Next Media Flags Off 146 Journalists for Nationwide Coverage of Uganda’s 2026 Elections
Media house pledges comprehensive, real-time reporting ahead of Thursday’s polls.

With only two days to go before Uganda’s general elections, Next Media Services has flagged off 146 journalists to ensure uninterrupted and credible coverage of the electoral process across all districts.

The flag-off ceremony took place at Next Media Park in Naguru and was led by Group CEO Kin Kariisa, highlighting the media company’s commitment to delivering timely and accurate information before, during, and after polling day.

Speaking at the event, Dalton Kaweesa, Head of Current Affairs at Next Media, said the journalists are fully trained and equipped to report live from the field and file stories promptly using modern broadcasting technology, ensuring speed, depth, and credibility.

During the ceremony, the reporters were handed essential tools for the elections, including branded protective gear, field vehicles, and advanced technology to facilitate real-time reporting.

Kaweesa emphasized that both training and technology are central to providing fast and accurate election news nationwide.

The journalists pledged to serve as the eyes and ears of Ugandans, promising impartial, professional, and fearless reporting throughout the electoral process.

Several reporters expressed confidence in their preparedness and readiness to keep the public informed at every stage of the elections.
